The main advantage of 1. Nf3 is that it allows you to dodge a lot of uncomfortable openings. For instance if you don’t like to face the Dutch you should consider starting with 1. Nf3. Here is a forced line that effectively deals with the so called “refutation that every russian schoolboy knows” in the Lisitsin Gambit.
